Dnipro and districts across the region once again came under attack. Drones struck residential and private buildings, causing destruction, fires, and casualties, including children, according to an acting head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Administration, Vladyslav Haivanenko.
In Dnipro, a Russian drone strike damaged a residential high-rise, destroying several apartments and causing a fire. According to preliminary reports, seven people were injured, including two children aged 2 and 13.
Additionally, a private house caught fire in the Samara district, while loud explosions were reported in Pavlohrad, where a local store sustained damage. Infrastructure destruction was also recorded in the Synelnykove district.
Dnipro mayor Borys Filatov wrote on Facebook that rescue operations are ongoing, but due to continued strikes and the ongoing air raid alert, it is not yet possible to determine the exact number of dead and injured.
Filatov also noted that assessing the full scale of property damage remains difficult; residents in need of temporary shelter were advised to go to School No. 130.
Night attack on Ukraine, November 8: What is known
Overnight on November 8, Russian forces struck Ukraine using attack drones, Kalibr cruise missiles, and Kinzhal hypersonic missiles.
Monitoring channels reported that MiG aircraft participated in the attacks twice during the night. The main targets were energy infrastructure and populated areas, which led to emergency power outages in several regions.
Energy companies reported around 1:00 AM Kyiv time that emergency blackouts had been introduced in Kyiv, as well as in Kyiv, Cherkasy, and Kirovohrad regions, with similar measures implemented in the Sumy region.
The Ministry of Energy stated that outages will continue until the energy system stabilizes, as the Russian attack targeted critical infrastructure.
Earlier, Mykolaiv officials said they do not plan to rebuild the regional administration building destroyed in a Russian strike.
Meanwhile, the situation in Pokrovsk remains tense; Russian forces have entered urban areas, attempting to create conditions for full encirclement, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
