Drone footage reveals scale of flood in Lviv region (video)

Due to severe weather, flooding occurred in Lviv and eleven territorial communities of the Lviv region, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES) reports.
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine reminds that due to heavy rainfall, the rivers Shchyrka and Zubra in the Lviv district overflowed their banks.
In addition to Lviv, flooding affected 11 territorial communities, such as:
- Kamianka-Buzka;
- Hlynianska;
- Davydivska;
- Zymnovodivska;
- Obroshynska;
- Pustomytivska;
- Brodivska;
- Chervonohradska;
- Sokilnytska;
- Solonkivska;
- Shchyretska communities.
As of 8 a.m. local time, fire and rescue units in the Lviv region carried out 56 operations to eliminate the consequences of the bad weather. Eight people were rescued from flooded homes, including five children.
The response efforts involved:
- 179 rescuers;
- 49 units of special equipment.
Severe weather in Lviv on July 10
On July 10, Lviv and its surroundings were hit by severe weather. Due to the downpour, some streets were flooded, and in some areas, traffic was complicated or completely blocked.
According to the SES, almost a full year's worth of rainfall fell in one day in the Lviv region.
