During a drone attack on Russia's Krasnodar region on August 3, a drone fell onto a beach in Arkhipo-Osipovka near Gelendzhik. According to Russian authorities, six people, including three children, were killed, according to the Russian Telegram channel Agentstvo. Novosti and Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty.
According to the Agentstvo media outlet, the drone fell onto a beach in the village of Arkhipo-Osipovka near Gelendzhik. Citing statements by Krasnodar region Governor Veniamin Kondratyev, the media outlet reported that Russian authorities initially said three people had been killed and 13 injured. Later, the regional operational headquarters confirmed the deaths of four people, including one child.
Later, Agentstvo reported that Kondratyev said the death toll had risen to six, including three children, while the number of injured had reached 40.
The media outlet also cited data from the Russian Ministry of Health, according to which 17 people, including children, were hospitalized. According to the Russian authorities, as cited by Agentstvo, civilian infrastructure was hit.
What the published videos showed
According to Agentstvo, the Ukrainian monitoring Telegram channel Supernova+ published two videos showing the moment the drone fell. In one of the videos, bursts of automatic gunfire can be heard immediately before the drone suddenly loses altitude and crashes onto the beach.

According to Agentstvo, a representative of the Conflict Intelligence Team research group suggested that the drone may have been damaged by Russian air defenses. OSINT analyst Kyrylo Mykhailov gave the media outlet a similar assessment.
"It appears that a mobile fire group was there and was firing specifically at this drone, but whether it actually hit it cannot be determined from the video," the expert said.
According to Agentstvo, Mykhailov also noted that the drone's abrupt change in flight path appears unusual for normal flight and may indicate external interference.
What else analysts noted
According to Agentstvo, an analysis of the published footage shows that the drone crashed near the Rassvet recreation center in Arkhipo-Osipovka. The media outlet notes that the site is a branch of NPO Mashinostroyeniya, one of Russia's key missile and space industry enterprises.
According to Agentstvo, citing eyewitnesses, no air raid sirens sounded on the beach before the attack, while vacationers heard intense gunfire.
After the overnight drone attack on August 3, a major fire broke out at Belgorod State Technological University named after Vladimir Shukhov in Belgorod. The university had previously reported developing drone control systems and training specialists in unmanned aerial systems.
