On the night of September 4, Russian oil and chemical industry facilities came under drone attack. Fires were reported in Sochi and Bashkortostan, with one occurring more than 1,000 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, according to ASTRA and the BLYSKAVKA Telegram channel.

Fires break out in several regions

The overnight drone attack caused fires at Russian industrial facilities. In Sochi, a fire broke out at the Rosneft-Kubannefteprodukt oil depot in the Adler district.

According to OSINT analysts at ASTRA, this conclusion was reached after analyzing footage published by eyewitnesses.

The images also showed another fire. ASTRA previously reported that an air defense unit in the Sochi area caught fire after the attack.

Sochi Mayor Andrey Proshunin confirmed the fire at the oil depot and said there were no casualties.

What happened near Sterlitamak

Another fire was reported in Bashkortostan. The BLYSKAVKA Telegram channel reported a drone attack on Sterlitamak, located more than 1,000 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. The city is home to one of Russia's major chemical industry centers.

According to the channel, a petrochemical plant caught fire as a result of the attack. The facility produces ionol, an additive used in aviation fuel and lubricants.

Reports of the consequences of the overnight attack thus came from two Russian regions. In Sochi, a fire was reported at an oil infrastructure facility, while near Sterlitamak, a chemical industry plant caught fire.
