Drone attack reported in Tambov region, Russia, series of explosions heard
On the night of January 16, a series of explosions were heard in the Tambov region (Russia) near Kotovsk city and the village of Kuzmino-Gat, where a gunpowder plant is located. Air defense systems are operating in the area, inform Mash Telegram channel and local media.

It is said that the drone attack on the Tambov region last night was “massive.” The Russian side attributes the air strike to Ukraine.
Russian social media also says the aircraft-type UAVs were moving “toward the gunpowder factory in the village of Kuzmino-Gat.”
Tambov Telegram channels also claim that there were several explosions in Kotovsk. Allegedly, air defense systems were operating there.
According to local Telegram channels, drones began attacking the Tambov region at 00:40.
Also, according to Russian media, explosions were heard in Kuzmino-Gat.
Downing of UAVs as a result of air defense in the region is reported.
Meanwhile, local authorities have not made any statements about the situation in the Tambov region amid the air attack.
Earlier, Russia claimed a drone strike on the Tambov region on the night of January 15, which caused a fire at a distillery in the village of Novaya Lyada.
