As a result of the Russian strike on Dnipro on the evening of March 28, there are casualties and many injured. Rescuers, doctors, and law enforcement officers are working at the scene, according to the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Serhii Lysak.

As the official stated at 23:11, according to preliminary information, one person was known to have died in the city due to the Russian air attack using strike drones.

Additionally, he reported that six more people were injured, including a 27-year-old pregnant woman.

"She has a stab-lacerated wound. Two of the injured are in serious condition—a 69-year-old man and woman," said the head of the Regional Military Administration.

According to Lysak, all emergency services are on-site - rescuers, doctors, police officers, and utility workers.

"We are communicating with the city regarding eliminating the consequences of Russian actions," he added.

The Regional Military Administration chief also posted photos online showing the aftermath of the drone attack on Dnipro this evening.

Number of casualties and injured increased

Later, the head of the Regional Military Administration reported that four people in Dnipro were now confirmed dead due to the Russian air attack. He also added that the number of injured individuals was increasing, now reaching 15.

"Three of them are in serious condition. Four locals will be recovering at home. The others remain in the hospital," Lysak said.

He also revealed that the Russians had directed more than two dozen drones at the city, most of which were shot down.

Updated: consequences clarified, number of injured increased

At 00:22, the head of the Regional Military Administration reported that the number of injured in Dnipro had risen to 19 people.

According to Lysak, due to the evening drone attack in Dnipro:

  • several multi-story buildings were damaged,

  • fires broke out in nearly a dozen private homes,

  • garages and a service station were set on fire.

"The fire at the hotel-restaurant complex has been localized by the rescuers," the official reported.

Updated: The Russians targeted purely civilian objects

As the first deputy head of the Dnipropetrovsk region, Yuriy Yandulskyi, explained in a comment to Suspilne Dnipro, the targets of the Russian attack were strictly civilian objects in Dnipro, including:

  • A restaurant complex

  • Residential buildings

  • A high-rise building

He added that a search and rescue operation is ongoing in Dnipro.

Updated: Debris from Russian UAVs may remain in Dnipro, residents urged to be cautious

Around 01:00 AM, the National Police clarified the consequences of the massive drone attack on Dnipro and shared more photos of the aftermath.

"On the evening of March 28, the enemy once again attacked the city. As a result of the UAV attack, residential areas and cars were damaged, a high-rise building caught fire, and a large-scale fire broke out in a restaurant complex," the National Police said.

As of 00:30, there are reports of 4 dead and 19 injured, according to the police, who added that all emergency services are active at the attack sites. The police are documenting the consequences of the Russian drone strike on Dnipro.

Furthermore, law enforcement agencies have asked residents to be cautious, as debris from downed drones may be on the streets.

Drone strike on Dnipro

On the evening of March 28, Russians launched kamikaze drones at Ukraine in another air attack. Later, explosions were heard in Dnipro during the Shahed attack.

Footage of fires in the city appeared online. Monitoring channels had earlier reported that a large number of drones were heading toward Dnipro.

Local authorities initially reported four injured people. It was also noted that a massive fire broke out at a restaurant complex. Additionally, an apartment building and private houses caught fire.
