Early in the morning of Monday, July 7, the Russian army launched a massive attack on Kharkiv with Shahed-type attack drones. A multi-story building was hit, and dozens of people were reported injured.

What the Russians attacked with

Around 05:30 am, several explosions rocked Kharkiv. According to the mayor of the city, Ihor Terekhov, Kharkiv was attacked by two Russian drones.

Initially, it was reported that the explosions occurred in the Shevchenkivskyi district of the city. Two more explosions occurred in the Slobidskyi district of Kharkiv.

Consequences

According to the State Emergency Service, apartments on the 8th floor of a 9-story building were on fire in the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kharkiv. The area of the fire was 70 square meters. It is currently localized and is being extinguished.

In the Slobidskyi district, a fire was reported on the territory of a kindergarten and a shopping center. An outbuilding and a car were on fire. The total area of the fire is about 10 square meters.

Rescuers, pyrotechnics, and psychologists of the State Emergency Service are working at the scene.

The Kharkiv City Council clarified that at least 24 buildings were damaged as a result of the enemy attack in the Shevchenkivskyi and Slobidskyi districts.

In total, 1,055 windows were smashed, 99 balcony windows, and two roofs were damaged. The street lighting wires were also severed, but have been repaired.

Inspection of the damaged buildings is ongoing.

About the victims

Preliminary, 27 people were injured, including 3 children.

Three victims, including one child, were taken to hospitals. Their condition is moderate. Doctors are providing all necessary assistance.

Russia's night attack on Ukraine

Last night, the Russian army traditionally attacked the territory of Ukraine with Shahed-type attack drones. Kharkiv, Odesa, and Kyiv came under enemy fire.

According to preliminary data, there were no casualties in Kyiv, but there was some damage.

In Odesa, one person was hit. Damage was also reported in the city.
