Donald Trump unhappy with Russia’s strikes on Ukraine

US President Donald Trump said he is not happy with Russia’s ongoing strikes on Ukraine, according to CNN.
"I’m not happy about what’s going on with the bombing because they’re bombing like crazy right now. They’re bombing — I don’t know what’s happening there. That’s not a good situation," Trump said.
His remarks came in response to why his new tariff plan does not include any measures against Russia. He eventually addressed the matter directly, saying the US is essentially not doing business with Russia and that Russia itself is in a state of war.
Continuing his response, Trump said that US officials are holding meetings with representatives from both Russia and Ukraine, and that we are getting closer. However, he did not clarify whether this progress referred to a potential ceasefire.
Trump’s discontent
A day earlier, Donald Trump stated that the US is continuing talks with Russia aimed at ending the war. At the same time, he reiterated his dissatisfaction with the ongoing bombings.
“We are talking with Russia. We'd like them to stop. I don't like the bombings. The bombing goes on and on. Every week, thousands of young people are being killed. And it's a horrible thing that should have never started, it would have never started if I were president,” Trump said.
