President Donald Trump said he had "tremendous progress" with Venezuela’s interim president, Delcy Rodríguez, according to a post by Trump on the Truth Social platform.
"We are making tremendous progress, as we help Venezuela stabilize and recover," Trump stated.
The US president said the talks covered key issues, including cooperation in the energy sector, mineral extraction, trade, and national security. He emphasized that a potential partnership between the United States and Venezuela could be mutually beneficial.
Donald Trump also expressed confidence that Venezuela has the potential to return to economic growth and prosperity, adding that the country could soon become strong and prosperous again.
"Venezuela will soon be great and prosperous again, perhaps more so than ever before!" Trump concluded.

According to three sources familiar with the plan, interim president Delcy Rodríguez would need to meet the White House’s conditions before Venezuela is allowed to increase oil production.
Trump did not rule out a future visit to Venezuela and said he intends to oversee the country’s recovery over the long term, stressing the need to rebuild it. He said the reconstruction would be carried out in a highly profitable way, centered on oil production.
Previously, Trump stated that Venezuela’s interim authorities would transfer between 30 and 50 million barrels of high-quality, sanctioned oil to the United States. According to him, the oil would be sold at market prices, and the proceeds would be personally overseen by the US president to ensure they are used for the benefit of both the Venezuelan people and the United States.
