US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth will hold an important press conference regarding American strikes on Iran. It will take place on June 26, according to US President Donald Trump on Truth Social.

“Secretary of Defense (War!) Pete Hegseth, together with Military Representatives, will be holding a Major News Conference tomorrow morning at 8 A.M. EST at The Pentagon, in order to fight for the Dignity of our Great American Pilots,” Trump wrote.

He once again accused CNN and The Failing New York Times of spreading fake news, claiming that Iran’s nuclear program had supposedly not been completely destroyed.

“The News Conference will prove both interesting and irrefutable. Enjoy!” the US president added.

US strikes on Iran

On June 22, the US carried out strikes on key Iranian nuclear sites - in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. President Donald Trump and US officials repeatedly stated that Tehran’s nuclear program had been destroyed. US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth made the same claim.

However, in recent days, CNN and other media outlets published a preliminary assessment from US intelligence. According to that assessment, the strikes on the three Iranian nuclear facilities did not destroy the core components of the nuclear program.

Following these reports, Trump harshly criticized CNN and The New York Times, accusing them of spreading disinformation.
