'Don't be shocked': Zelenskyy doesn't expect challenges after Dutch elections
The results of the elections in the Netherlands, where the far-right Party for Freedom emerged victorious, will not pose immediate challenges for Ukraine, says the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
It was stated during a joint press conference with his Latvian counterpart Edgars Rinkēvičs.
"As for the Netherlands, I urge you not to be shocked. We, it seems to me, are in good relations. And today, the status of our relations continues, supported by the Prime Minister (Mark Rutte - ed.). I trust Rutte, and I believe that there will be no challenges in the near future," emphasized the head of the Ukrainian state.
Elections in the Netherlands
Recall that parliamentary elections took place in the Netherlands. According to the results, the far-right Party for Freedom gained the most seats in parliament. They are against migration and want to cease providing military aid to Ukraine.
Expert Volodymyr Fesenko, in a comment to RBC-Ukraine, explained that in light of these election results, the transfer of F-16s to Ukraine from the Netherlands may be at risk.
He also noted that the Party for Freedom opposes the expansion of the European Union, which is a concern for Ukraine.
