Does US want to control gas transit through Ukraine? Zelenskyy responds

Ukraine and the US are not currently discussing the Ukrainian gas transmission system as part of the minerals deal, but the topic could be raised, stated Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"We haven’t talked about the pipeline (Ukraine’s gas transmission network - ed.), although I think we could discuss that asset,” the President said.
At the same time, he emphasized that resuming the transit of Russian gas, which brings revenue to the Kremlin and could be used to finance the war, is out of the question.
"We’ve mentioned many times that there are other gas, other countries. If there are any proposals - great, let’s return to it. But as you can see, no one is getting back to this topic. The Americans did not push us anywhere," Zelenskyy noted.
Rumors about US plans
Recently, Reuters, citing its own source, reported that a draft mineral resources agreement prepared by Washington allegedly included a provision for the US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) to control the gas pipeline running from Russia to Europe through Ukraine.
Officials did not confirm these rumors. Moreover, it has not been previously reported that Ukraine and the United States are discussing the Ukrainian gas transportation system as part of the minerals deal.
Ukraine and the United States may sign a memorandum today as part of the minerals deal. Work on the deal is still ongoing.
