Russia currently has no plans to contact US presidential special envoys Keith Kellogg and Steve Witkoff in Istanbul, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told Interfax.

"No. There are currently no plans for contacts with them (Witkoff and Kellogg - ed.)," he stated.

Witkoff and Kellogg will travel to Istanbul

As previously reported, representatives from Ukraine and Russia may hold negotiations in Istanbul tomorrow, May 15. Russian officials have not yet disclosed who exactly will represent the aggressor country at these talks.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump stated yesterday, May 13, that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio will travel to Istanbul and other American officials for the negotiations.

CNN and Reuters, citing their own sources, reported that presidential special representatives Keith Kellogg and Steve Witkoff would also head to Istanbul.

However, today Witkoff himself clarified that he and Rubio would only travel to Istanbul on Friday, May 16.
