During the night of 6 December, Russia again struck peaceful Ukrainian cities using ballistic missiles, Kinzhal missiles, and Shahed drones. The attack targeted, among other locations, Dnipro and the wider region, according to a Facebook post by Vladyslav Haivonenko, deputy head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Administration.
Monitoring channels, as well as the Ukrainian Air Force, reported ballistic missiles heading toward Zelenodolsk and Kryvyi Rih.
The Air Force also reported a high-speed target detected in the direction of Dnipro, noting additional ballistic trajectories aimed at the city.
Zelenodolsk Mayor Dmytro Neveselyi confirmed on Facebook that a ballistic missile had been launched toward the city. The consequences of the strike, including possible damage and casualties, are still being assessed by the relevant services.
In addition, monitoring channels note that Shahed drones continue to fly toward Zelenodolsk and Kryvyi Rih.
Residents of Dnipro reported voltage fluctuations in the power grid on social media. Electricity supply is currently stable, and the situation is being monitored by the responsible services.
Night strike on Ukraine
An air-raid alert was declared in Kyiv already in the evening due to the threat posed by incoming Russian drones. Capital residents were urged to head to shelters immediately and remain there until the alert ended, while similar activity was recorded in eastern, northern, southern and central regions of Ukraine.
Later, a nationwide air-raid alert was issued after the takeoff of a MiG-31K and the launch of high-speed targets toward Kyiv. Air defence operated over the capital, residents were urged to stay in shelters, and the alert was lifted some time later; details are still being clarified.
At the time of publication, the massive attack on Ukraine is ongoing. Citizens are urged to remain extremely cautious, follow official instructions, and avoid posting photos or videos of impacts online.
Negotiations between Ukraine and the US on advancing the peace plan are taking place in an intense format and may extend beyond regular working days, highlighting the pressure of political consultations.
Separately, Hungary’s refusal has increased pressure on EU-level negotiations, where member states are still searching for a coordinated approach to financing assistance for Ukraine and establishing a mechanism for using frozen Russian assets.
