DIY immunity-boosting drink for flu: Simple to make at home
A medicinal tincture can effectively alleviate the symptoms of a cold and the flu, such as weakness, cough, fever, and muscle pain. This remedy can be purchased ready-made, but you can also prepare it yourself, writes Strona Zdrowia.
The drink that contributes to the treatment of colds and the flu is a tincture of spices, fruits, and medicinal plants. In this form, such a remedy can provide the body with a concentrated dose of supportive substances that alleviate symptoms, stimulate the immune system, and help fight against pathogenic microorganisms.
However, it should be noted that as an alcoholic beverage, tincture should be consumed in small portions and moderate quantities, as excess consumption can hinder recovery. Excessive alcohol suppresses the activity of the immune system, so it is advisable to adhere to the recommended doses provided by recipes or the manufacturer of a particular product.
It is also advisable to choose options with lower sugar content or even without it to limit the adverse effects of consuming excessive amounts. When using tincture for treatment, general contraindications (pregnancy, breastfeeding, underage, use of drugs interacting with ethanol) should be taken into account, as well as specific contraindications regarding the raw materials used.
