Details of the Ukraine–US agreement on drone production will be known in the near future, said Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Heorhii Tykhyi, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
"We all understand that the United States has been one of Ukraine's key allies from the very beginning, providing us with enormous support. And, of course, they have the right and the opportunity to count on joint production with Ukraine of unique Ukrainian technologies. Such as Ukrainian drones, which have proven themselves on the battlefield," Tykhyi said.
According to him, this proposal to US President Donald Trump was made personally by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The Foreign Ministry spokesperson noted that such cooperation is of interest to the American side and shows that the partnership between Ukraine and the United States is mutually beneficial.
"You will see more details about this work, I think, in the near future," Tykhyi added.
Ukraine–US drone deal
Earlier, US President Donald Trump stated that America is studying the experience of using drones in Ukraine.
In addition, in July, Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced that Ukraine and the United States are preparing to sign a major agreement concerning the production and sale of drones.
Recently, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also confirmed that Ukraine proposed to the United States a drone deal that would make it possible to produce about 10 million drones annually.
"As for drones: the drone deal we have prepared and proposed to the American side concerns production worth 50 billion dollars – that is 5 years and 10 million drones per year. Such a large program. Probably after the war it will start operating," he said.
Zelenskyy also added that Ukraine has developed a plan to purchase American weapons worth 90 billion dollars.
