On board the Russian missile boat Ivanovets, the destruction of which was announced by Ukrainian intelligence, there could have been up to 40 sailors, according to the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook.

The Ukrainian Navy has reminded that on the night of February 1, the forces of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine destroyed a missile boat guarding the base in the settlement of Novoozerne.

According to the military, this is a significant loss for the Russians due to the presence of three such Project 1241.1 boats in the composition of the Russian Black Sea Fleet and armament, including anti-ship missiles of the Moskit type with a range of up to 130 kilometers.

"Search and rescue operations are currently underway. Taking into account the standard personnel of 40 sailors, the consequences of reducing the Russian fleet are also significant," the Navy specifies.

The military also reminds that this is not the first loss in the brigade. Earlier, Ukrainian forces damaged the small missile ship of Project 1239 Samum.

"This operation is another reminder to the Russian invaders that staying with impunity on the territory of previously occupied objects in Crimea is harmful to their health," emphasizes the Navy.
