Destruction, fatality, and injuries: What Kharkiv looks like after Russian guided bomb strike

How the Russian army attacked
Today, the city was heavily attacked twice. First, around 11 a.m. Kyiv time, several missiles struck Kharkiv’s critical infrastructure, causing significant damage.
Then, at 3 p.m., explosions were heard again, this time the enemy targeted the city with three KAB bombs (guided aerial bombs) that hit the private sector in the Slobidskyi district. Shortly before, the Air Force had warned of enemy aviation activity in the eastern direction.
In addition, throughout the day, the enemy carried out several attacks on the city using drones.

Casualties
No injuries were reported during the morning strike.
However, during the KAB bomb attack, a 65-year-old woman was killed. As of 5:30 p.m. Kyiv time, 10 people are reported injured.
Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov told RBC-Ukraine that five of the injured are currently in moderate condition and are receiving the necessary medical care.

Damage
According to city authorities, the morning strike caused significant damage to the city’s critical infrastructure.
"Four missiles were used by the enemy to attack a critical infrastructure facility, causing substantial damage," Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov said.
He later added that with each attack on the city, restoring the power supply becomes increasingly difficult.
As for the KAB bomb strike, the enemy destroyed private homes. Photos and videos from the scene show a crater, likely from an aerial bomb impact. Search and rescue operations are ongoing at the site of the attack.
According to the State Emergency Service (DSNS), a residential building and outbuildings were partially destroyed. No fires have been reported.

Russian strikes on Kharkiv and the region
On Saturday, January 17, Russian forces shelled the city again. Preliminary reports indicate at least two impacts.
On the same day, between 2:10 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., the enemy attacked Kharkiv with Tornado-S multiple rocket launch systems. According to Mayor Ihor Terekhov, the strike hit a critical infrastructure facility that provides the city with electricity and heating. The facility suffered significant damage.
