Deriugina school dominates Kabaeva's team at club world championship

The Aeon Cup, the club world championship in rhythmic gymnastics, concluded in Tokyo, Japan. The winners were the Ukrainian gymnasts from the Deriugina School, according to the National Olympic Committee press service.
Triumph in Japan
The Ukrainian club took gold in the team competition with a score of 326.150. The team included Taisia Onofriichuk, Polina Karika, and Liubov Horashchenko.
Their main rivals were members of Alina Kabaeva's Russian club, "Heavenly Grace." Despite protests from Ukraine and some other delegations, the Russian team was allowed to compete under a so-called neutral status.
The fierce rivalry ended in favor of the Ukrainian gymnasts. The "neutral" team took silver, while the bronze medals went to the Burlo/Pacific team from the USA.
