Coordination centers for air defense will be established in Chernihiv, Poltava, and Zaporizhzhia regions, modeled after the center operating in Kharkiv, according to Ukrainian Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal.

"I visited the Kharkiv air defense coordination center, where I held a meeting on creating similar air defense centers in Chernihiv, Poltava, and Zaporizhzhia regions. A number of decisions were made during the meeting," Shmyhal said.

He noted that the Kharkiv coordination center has demonstrated high operational effectiveness.

According to the minister, this experience will be scaled to other regions, enabling rapid response to threats, coordinating actions among all forces involved in countering aerial attacks, and ensuring maximum protection of critical infrastructure and civilians.

"Ukraine is systematically strengthening its air defense forces. We are doing everything to increase the resilience of our cities and ensure the safety of our people," Shmyhal emphasized.

In July 2024, it was reported that the Kharkiv regional air defense forces received an automated tactical group command post called Krechet. This equipment improved the efficiency of air defense control in the region.
