Death toll rises to 5 after Russian strike on Kryvyi Rih shopping mall, over 50 injured

As a result of a Russian strike on a shopping mall in Kryvyi Rih, 52 people have now been injured, including six children. Five people were killed, according to the head of the Kryvyi Rih Defense Council Oleksandr Vilkul, the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Hanzha, and the Prosecutor General’s Office.
"As of now, unfortunately, two people have been killed and 52 injured, including six children. Twenty of them are in serious condition and already in the operating room. The emergency rescue operation continues," Vilkul said.
He added that the number of casualties from the attack could rise.
Hanzha said that five people had now been killed in Kryvyi Rih as a result of the Russian attack on the shopping mall.
Documenting the aftermath of the strike
The Prosecutor General’s Office said that prosecutors are documenting the aftermath of the strike on the shopping mall in Kryvyi Rih.
"Investigative actions are ongoing. The number of victims is being established. Prosecutors are documenting the consequences of another Russian war crime," the statement said.
Criminal proceedings have been launched over the commission of a war crime under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
It should be recalled that Russian forces struck Kryvyi Rih’s largest shopping complex. A fire broke out following the attack.
Shortly after the first strike, Russia launched a second attack on the shopping mall using a jet-powered Shahed drone. The regional administration said that Russian drones were flying at extremely low altitudes.
