In the Dnipro River in Zaporizhzhia, the warhead of a Russian Shahed attack drone was discovered. The Russians regularly use such drones to attack Ukrainian cities, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reports.

According to rescuers, a local resident found the munition while being near the water.

Divers-demining specialists of the State Emergency Service arrived at the scene. Using an underwater drone, they surveyed the river area and identified the object as the warhead of a Shahed kamikaze drone. After the inspection, rescuers decided to destroy the munition on site. It was destroyed in compliance with safety regulations.

"In case you find a suspicious object: do not approach it, do not touch it, immediately call 101! Simple safety rules save lives!" the State Emergency Service emphasized.

Shahed-136/131 are Iranian-made drones that Russia actively uses in the war against Ukraine to strike energy and civilian infrastructure. Often, drones do not explode immediately or fall into the water, so they remain dangerous.

Shahed terrorism

In recent months, Shahed attacks on peaceful Ukrainian cities have become more massive. The Russians launch hundreds of drones overnight, particularly when the UAV raid is conducted ahead of a missile attack.

On the night of June 30, Russia attacked Ukraine with 107 Shahed drones, of which air defense forces shot down 74. The main directions of the strike were the Donetsk and Kharkiv regions, and the attack came from several directions.

As previously reported, since the beginning of the war, the Russians have already launched over 28,000 Shahed UAVs at Ukraine.

Recently, Ukraine's intelligence revealed the contents of a modernized Shahed with a camera and artificial intelligence.
