In Czechia, details have been disclosed regarding the timing and delivery of the next batches of ammunition to Ukraine. According to Czech President Petr Pavel, Ukrainian forces are set to receive 50,000 units of ammunition this and next month.

It should be noted that this concerns the Czech initiative to purchase artillery ammunition for Ukraine from countries outside the European Union.

As stated by the President of Czechia, Ukraine is expected to receive 50,000 units of ammunition from July to August. From September until the end of the current year, shipments are planned to range from 80,000 to 100,000 per month.

Czech initiative on ammunition for Ukraine

Back in February this year, Czech President Petr Pavel announced at the Munich Security Conference that his country had secured hundreds of thousands of shells for Ukraine, pending financing. Several countries have joined the initiative, including Portugal, Finland, Germany, Lithuania, and others.

By late June, Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala reported the arrival of the first shipment in Ukraine. Czech Defense Minister Jana Chernochova clarified that this consisted of 50,000 units of ammunition, with the goal of supplying 500,000 units to Ukraine by the end of the year under the initiative.

Moreover, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy recently confirmed that shells from the Czech initiative are already bolstering Ukrainian troops on the battlefield. Against this backdrop, it became known that the difference in the number of shots fired between Russian and Ukrainian forces has decreased by more than half.
