Croatian Defense Minister Ivan Anušić arrived in Ukraine today, Sunday, October 26, for a visit, according to his statement on Facebook.

Anušić noted that his visit to Ukraine will last two days. In Kyiv, he is scheduled to meet with his Ukrainian counterpart, Denys Shmyhal.

"In addition to this bilateral visit, I came to Kyiv to pay tribute to the brave Ukrainian people, Ukrainian soldiers, and all victims of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine. For almost four years, Ukraine has resisted Russian attacks, and Croatia fully understands what an imposed war means," he added.

At the same time, he noted that Croatia will continue to assist Ukraine with humanitarian and military aid.

He emphasized that during the visit, he plans to discuss with Shmyhal support for Ukraine’s defense industry, as well as cooperation between the Croatian and Ukrainian military industries.

It is worth recalling that on Friday, October 24, German Energy Minister Katharina Reiche arrived in Ukraine for a multi-day visit.

She held a series of meetings aimed at further strengthening Ukraine’s energy independence. Notably, Reiche was present in Kyiv during a ballistic attack on the night of October 25.

That night, three districts of Kyiv were affected — Dniprovskyi, Desnianskyi, and Darnytskyi. For more details, see the RBC-Ukraine report.

It should also be noted that during her visit, the German minister had to spend about an hour in a bomb shelter due to the night attacks on the city, and later she commented on the experience.
