Critical update for Samsung Galaxy released: Check your phones immediately

Samsung has confirmed that it has released an important free update that fixes a number of troubling bugs, including some that have been deemed "critical."
Update details
The March 2025 patch fixes 58 security vulnerabilities discovered in previous software that affect the core Android operating system. The update may be released shortly for all eligible Galaxy smartphones and tablets.
It includes 51 patches from Google and seven patches from Samsung. 11 of them are marked as critical, and 40 as high priority. One of the fixes was also released by Google in a security patch last month. Three fixes are not applicable to Samsung devices but are included in the new patch.
"Samsung Mobile is releasing a technical update for major flagship models as part of its monthly Security Maintenance Release (SMR) process," Samsung said on its update page.
Samsung has fixed some vulnerabilities related to Bluetooth Auracast, Galaxy Watch Gallery, MAC address, and improper access control.
The South Korean company is expected to release a stable One UI 7.0 update for compatible high-end phones and tablets next month. Budget and mid-range phones and tablets may receive the update in May.
How to update your Galaxy phone:
- Swipe down from the top of the screen and then tap on the "Settings" icon
- Scroll and tap "Software update" or "System update"
- Tap "Download and install", "Check for system updates", or "Check for software updates". If an update is available, it should start downloading automatically, although on some devices you may need to click "Download now"

It's worth noting that not all Samsung phones receive monthly updates, some older models now receive new patches only at intervals throughout the year.
