Crimea must be returned under Ukraine's control – Turkish President
The return of Crimea to Ukraine's control is a provision of international law. Türkiye supports the end of a full-scale war based on the country's territorial integrity, sovereignty, and independence, according to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, reports Anadolu.
“Türkiye's support for the territorial integrity, sovereignty, and independence of Ukraine remains unchanged. The return of Crimea to Ukraine is a provision of international law,” Erdoğan said.
The Turkish president expressed hope that “additional steps will be taken in the future to strengthen the rights of Crimean Tatar Turks.” He notes that Ankara wants the war to end with a just and lasting peace based on the territorial integrity, sovereignty, and independence of Ukraine.
Returning Crimea to Ukraine
In August, a representative of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, Andrii Yusov, said that the Ukrainian command had a plan to completely destroy the illegally built Kerch Bridge and liberate the occupied Crimea.
In July 2023, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that the Crimean Bridge is one of the key targets for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Today, September 11, the Crimea Platform summit is taking place in Kyiv. The previous meeting took place on October 23, 2023 in Czechia, with about 70 parliaments and parliamentary assemblies participating.
As Zelenskyy noted during the opening of the Ukrainian national memorial commemorating the tragedy of the Crimean Tatar people, Ukraine will move forward until it liberates Crimea from the enemy.
