The position of the United States on the use of American weapons by the Ukrainian army on the territory of Russia remains unchanged, but this does not apply to Russian military objects in the temporarily occupied Crimea, according to Pentagon spokesman Patrick Ryder.

Responding to a question about whether this topic was discussed during the meeting between the Ukrainian and US defense ministers, Ryder said that the US policy on the use of long-range weapons by Ukrainian forces against Russia has not changed.

At the same time, in response to a clarification on whether this applies to occupied Crimea, he noted that Crimea is Ukraine.

US permission for the Armed Forces of Ukraine to strike at the territory of Russia

The United States has permitted Ukraine to use the US weapons provided to it to strike at Russian territory. However, Washington has set restrictions - US weapons can only be used in border areas.

Later, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reported that Western countries are discussing allowing attacks on Russian territory without restrictions on the direction or depth of the Russian rear.

At the same time, the ISW noted that US President Joe Biden is against allowing the Ukrainian Armed Forces to strike military targets in operational zones or deep in Russia's rear with US weapons.

Today, the media reported that many officials in the United States and abroad insist that the White House lift all restrictions on the use of American weapons by the Armed Forces against Russian territory.
