On the night of July 10, occupied Crimea was once again attacked by drones. Reports circulating online indicated that the Moynaki substation in Yevpatoria was struck, reports Crimean Wind.
A strike on the power substation at 149 Internatsionalnaya Street in Yevpatoria was recorded. The 110/10 kV Moynaki substation is a key energy hub and a step-down substation.
A fire broke out at the substation following the strike. Yevpatoria and nearby settlements were left without power.
Crimean Wind noted that a large-scale modernization of the substation, costing 1 billion rubles, was carried out in 2024. During the reconstruction, power transformers were replaced, and the total capacity was increased nearly fourfold—to 126 MVA.
The occupying entity Voda Kryma reported that water supply on the peninsula was partially cut off due to an accident on the power grids of the Krymenergo company.
Meanwhile, the Russian ministry of defense reported that 376 drones had been shot down over Crimea, the Sea of Azov, other occupied territories of Ukraine, and Russian regions.
Drone attacks on Crimea
On the night of July 8, Ukraine launched strikes against strategic Russian targets in Crimea. The drone attacks targeted a power bridge, electrical substations, a military training ground, and a radar station.
Ukrainian drones also struck more than nine tankers belonging to Russia’s shadow fleet and caused a partial blackout in Crimea.
In total, since the beginning of July, Ukrainian drones have struck 37 energy facilities in Crimea and the Donbas. As a result of the strikes, the occupation authorities acknowledged a total blackout.
