Russian forces continue attempts to enter the territory of Dnipropetrovsk region. Fighting has moved close to its administrative border.

This was stated by the spokesperson for the operational-strategic group Khortytsia, Viktor Trehubov, during the national telethon broadcast.

Trehubov recalled that Russian forces have been falsely claiming for the past three weeks that they have allegedly entered Dnipropetrovsk region. They have even released fake videos to support these claims.

"As of now, the enemy is not present on the territory of Dnipropetrovsk region. However, fighting has moved very close to the administrative border, near some populated areas located adjacent to that border," he added.

According to the spokesperson for the operational-strategic group Khortytsia, there is no question of Russian forces having taken control of territory at or beyond the administrative border.

Trehubov also noted that, in theory, saboteurs could enter the territory of Dnipropetrovsk region. However, he added, in theory, they could just as well enter Volyn region from Belarus.

Russia’s plans

As a reminder, the head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense, Kyrylo Budanov, previously stated that Russian forces aim to advance 10 kilometers into the Dnipropetrovsk region.

According to him, the enemy seeks to establish a so-called buffer zone in the region.
