During the night of June 9, the Chonhar Bridge sustained further damage in an operation carried out by Ukrainian units using FP-2 drones, resulting in the complete disablement of the crossing and the suspension of transport traffic, according to the 1st Separate Assault Regiment of the Ukrainian Ground Forces.

Second strike on the Chonhar Bridge

A second strike on the Chonhar Bridge was carried out during the night of June 9. The operation involved units from the Multi-Domain Operations Center Phalanx, the Dmytro Kotsiubailo 1st Separate Assault Regiment, and the 475th Separate Assault Regiment CODE 9.2. FP-2 drones were used to hit the target.

Impact on logistics

The bridge was first damaged on June 7, when part of the roadway in one direction was affected.

Following a second strike, the facility’s infrastructure was completely knocked out, and transport links were cut off for an extended period.

The statement noted that any movement in the area and attempts to carry out repair work are being monitored.

Ukrainian forces also signaled readiness to launch further strikes if efforts are made to restore the logistics route.

Continued operations

The military reported that FrontStrike operations targeting logistics infrastructure are continuing as part of a broader campaign.

Earlier, during the night of June 9, drones carried out another attack on the Chonhar Bridge, one of the key crossings connecting Russian-occupied Crimea with the mainland. As a result of the strike, traffic across the bridge was completely halted, and authorities reportedly advised drivers to use alternative routes.

According to information released by occupation officials, the strike hit the crossing over the Syvash, leaving transport traffic across the bridge blocked.
