China will support a conference recognized by both Russia and Ukraine with “equal participation of all parties”, according to Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning.

According to the spokeswoman, China has always upheld a “just and objective position” on the war in Ukraine and has worked to promote peace talks.

She also noted that Beijing encourages a peaceful resolution of the “crisis” and supports an international peace conference recognized by Ukraine and Russia with “equal participation of all parties”. In particular, China is ready to maintain communication with the international community to promote a “political settlement of the Ukraine crisis”.

Answering the question of whether China will send a delegation to the Global Peace Summit, Ning said: “I don’t have anything to share on that right now.”
