China has tested an experimental military drone equipped with a standard infantry rifle, which demonstrated 100% shooting accuracy when firing at a human-sized target, according to the South China Morning Post.

According to a study published in the Journal of Gun Launch and Control, the unmanned aerial vehicle fired 20 single shots from an altitude of about 10 meters and a distance of 100 meters, with every shot hitting the target. Half of the bullets landed within a radius of approximately 11 centimeters, which is comparable to a headshot.

The drone was developed jointly by Wuhan Guide Infrared and the Chinese military’s Army Special Operations Academy. Unlike many previous models, it uses a standard infantry rifle rather than a modified or specially designed weapon.

Experts note that the achieved accuracy is the result of significant improvements in drone stabilization, targeting algorithms, and integrated fire‑control systems, which allow the aircraft to compensate for vibrations during flight.

At present, the system can fire only single shots, not in automatic fire mode. The developers have not specified when, or whether, the drone will be adopted into service.

Last year, Ukraine successfully tested its own long‑range drone capable of flying up to 3,000 km. The achievement was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy himself.

As is known, since the start of Russia’s full‑scale invasion, Ukraine has gradually scaled up drone production and even exceeded its targets in 2024.

RBC‑Ukraine has also reported that Russia has developed and launched production of long‑range strike drones in China, intended for use in the war against Ukraine.
