China announces its intention to deepen cooperation with North Korea

The People's Republic of China is ready to closely cooperate with the legislative body of North Korea to help relations reach a higher level, states Newly elected Chairman of China's 14th National People's Congress Standing Committee, Zhao Leji.
"It has always been our strategic unwavering policy to maintain, consolidate and develop China-DPRK relations," Zhao quoted Chinese President Xi Jinping as saying during a meeting with North Korean politician Choe Ryong Hae.
China's support for Russia
China officially condemns Russia's aggression against Ukraine and advocates for a peaceful resolution to the war.
In October 2023, the US Department of Defense stated that China was supplying arms to Russia, including drones, small arms, and equipment.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi assured his Ukrainian counterpart, Dmytro Kuleba, that Beijing is not supplying lethal weapons to Russia.
The US has warned China against aiding Russia in the war against Ukraine. In response, China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on not to shift responsibility for cooperation with Russia onto China.
