Ukraine’s First Lady, Olena Zelenska, met with US First Lady Melania Trump. The main topic of their discussion was the protection of Ukrainian children, according to Zelenska’s post.
"I thanked Mrs. Melania for her support of Ukraine, especially for her attention to children who have become victims of Russia’s brutal war against Ukraine. In particular, for the letter urging Putin to bring peace for the children," said Ukraine’s First Lady.
She emphasized that she greatly values the openness of the US First Lady’s heart toward the well-being of children worldwide.
Zelenska stated that she continues to believe in the effectiveness of soft power - humanity, empathy, and the ability to change reality for the better.
The First Lady expressed confidence that joint efforts can help all children in need.
Zelenska also added that she hopes to continue cooperating with Melania Trump to protect children.
Zelenska and Trump meeting
On September 24, press secretary of the President of Ukraine, Serhii Nykyforov, told RBC-Ukraine that Ukraine’s First Lady, Olena Zelenska, met with US First Lady Melania Trump in New York.
According to Nykyforov, the meeting took place on September 23, but he did not provide further details.
