Ukrainians are urged not to rush to conclusions about the involvement of North Korean troops in assaults on occupiers in the Kursk region, as the Koreans also tend to "run out," according to a Telegram post by Andrii Kovalenko, the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD).

"As of now, it's not necessary to exaggerate the situation with North Koreans in the Kursk region," he says.

The military official does not dispute that North Koreans were indeed being trained to enter combat as infantry in Russian units, but solely in terms of numbers, and were brought up to the line where Russian forces are conducting assaults.

"Now there are many rumors about 'North Koreans who never run out.' But they do run out, quite quickly. More accurate information about their involvement in combat will become available soon," Kovalenko stated.

Situation in the Kursk region

Ukrainian forces have been advancing in the Kursk region for four months, securing a significant amount of territory in the region. During this advance, Ukraine's losses were nearly twice as low as those suffered by Russian forces.

Currently, Russian troops, supported by North Korean soldiers, are attempting to reclaim positions previously captured by Ukrainian forces in the Kursk region. It became known at the beginning of October that North Korea could deploy its regular forces to Ukraine to support Russian troops.

Recently, the Pentagon reported that North Korean forces remain present in the territory of the Kursk region in Russia. Although they have not yet engaged in combat, they are ready to enter the fight at any moment.

On December 14, the Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) announced that North Korean troops would soon begin storming Ukrainian positions in the Kursk region. Preparations for this operation are already underway.
