Strike on a kindergarten in Kharkiv

Around 11 a.m. Kyiv time, Russian forces attacked the Kholodnohirskyi district of Kharkiv with three Shahed drones. One of them hit a kindergarten building where 48 children were present. During the air raid alert, the children were taken to a shelter, after which rescuers evacuated them to a safe location.

As a result of the strike, the kindergarten, a store, a café, an office building, and several cars caught fire. There were three fire sources, the largest in the kindergarten, covering about 500 square meters.

About 60 rescuers, 13 units of equipment, as well as police officers, medics, utility workers, psychologists, and deminers were working at the scene. The fires have already been extinguished, and emergency rescue operations are ongoing.

According to official reports, one person — a utility worker who was cleaning the area during the attack — was killed. Nine people were reported injured.
