An explosion rocked Berdyansk on Sunday, May 5, Easter Sunday, resulting in the elimination of a local collaborator, according to the head of the Berdyansk City Military Administration, Viktoria Halitsyna.
"Today, May 5, in Berdyansk, a collaborator was detonated," Galitsyna said.
According to her, an employee of the occupational correctional colony was eliminated.
"An explosive device was planted under the car. The traitor died on the spot from the injuries," added the head of the City Military Administration.
As local Telegram channels report, Russians themselves announced the car explosion.
According to the Russian version, an unknown person planted a homemade explosive device under the vehicle of a correctional colony employee, where he worked.
Due to the injuries sustained, the traitor died on the spot.
Situation in Berdyansk
Russian forces occupied Berdyansk in the Zaporizhzhia region during the large-scale invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation in the winter of 2022. The city continues to be under the control of the invaders, with the Berdyansk port turned into a hub for military equipment and personnel by the Russians.
Despite the occupation, the city hosts a well-developed partisan movement, aiding Ukrainian defense forces in eliminating enemy concentrations and local collaborators who have sided with the enemy. For instance, just on May 2nd, there was an explosion in Berdyansk followed by a fire outbreak.
