AI potential
Former CEO of the Indian international technology company Tech Mahindra, Chander Prakash Gurnani (C.P. Gurnani), believes that artificial intelligence may create more jobs than it potentially destroys.
Despite active discussions on social media about AI's ability to disrupt the job market, the expert dismisses such concerns.
"The use cases of Generative AI are still being defined, which means that it has the potential to create more job opportunities in the future. Undoubtedly, the possibilities are just opening, and there is more to come," he believes.
Requirements to engineers
Artificial intelligence technologies, such as OpenAI's ChatGPT and Google's Bard, have captivated humanity with their incredible reactions and capabilities.
According to the entrepreneur, highly qualified professionals will always be "in demand."
"New jobs will also get created. The market will expand," he emphasized.
At the same time, the expert urged young engineers to adapt to the changing world - spending more time on self-learning and acquiring new skills.
For several IT companies, this may mean a fundamental shift in the operational model, as traditionally, companies would hire graduates from campuses and provide separate training before involving them in projects.
About ChatGPT
ChatGPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) is an AI-powered chatbot developed by OpenAI's Artificial Intelligence Research Lab.
Its prototype was released on November 30, 2022, and on February 18, 2023, the Minister of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov, announced that after lengthy negotiations with OpenAI representatives, ChatGPT became available for registration to users in Ukraine.
The chatbot's detailed and clear responses contributed to its popularity among users as a "smart technology." However, the factual accuracy of its responses has faced criticism.
On March 14, 2023, OpenAI introduced a chatbot model called GPT-4.
It became available to users through the paid version ChatGPT Plus. In this version, the chatbot gained the ability to process not only text but also images.
From July 26, 2023, users had access to the official version of ChatGPT for Android devices. Shortly after, ChatGPT became operational on iOS.
It's worth recalling that Bill Gates made a bold statement about the future of AI a bit earlier.
