The first photos from the site of Russia's dual attack on the train station and passenger trains in Shostka, Sumy region, have appeared online, according to the National Police and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

According to police, eight people were injured during the Russian attack on Shostka station (However, Ukraine's Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko reported that 30 people were injured in the Russian attack -ed.). Law enforcement officers are working at the sites of the attacks.

"Enemy drones hit a passenger car and the railway platform at the station. Preliminary reports indicate eight people were injured, including three children. Information about casualties and the scale of the damage is being clarified. Attacks on the city continue," the police said.

The State Emergency Service (SES) said one of the train cars struck in the attack caught fire. Rescuers extinguished the flames despite the ongoing Russian attack.

"During the firefighting operation, rescuers came under repeated fire. Fortunately, none of them were injured," the SES said.

Russian strike on Shostka station

On the afternoon of October 4, Russian forces attacked the railway station in Shostka, Sumy region, with drones, including a passenger train from Shostka to Kyiv. In total, about 30 people were injured.

After the drone and missile attack, Shostka and parts of the district were left without power. The situation is difficult not only with electricity, as residents are also being urged to conserve gas.
