Bundestag takes step toward allocating 3 billion euros in military aid to Ukraine

The Budget Committee of the Bundestag approved an additional €3 billion in military aid to Ukraine for 2025.

As the media informs, Germany allocated €4 billion for military assistance to Ukraine this year. However, an additional €3 billion is planned to be provided.

The committee also approved nearly €8.3 billion for the period from 2026 to 2029, which means the possibility of contracts for supply agreements.

Czechia open to sending troops to Ukraine

Czechia may send its soldiers to Ukraine if European nations agree to establish a corresponding military contingent.

According to Czech President Petr Pavel, the "coalition of the willing" consists of countries that are ready to act rather than just talk. He noted that a meeting of top military commanders took place in London the previous day, where they discussed the modalities of a potential military presence in Ukraine.

The upcoming meeting between Ukraine and US delegations in Saudi Arabia on March 24 will be technical rather than political, citing Heorhii Tykhyi, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

"This is not a political meeting, but a technical one. The meeting will focus on defining the parameters of the proposals for different ceasefire regimes that are currently on the negotiation table. As a state, we have proposed and agreed to a specific American proposal for a 30-day temporary total ceasefire," Tykhyi said.

Swedish Defense Ministry comments on surveillance aircraft transfer to Ukraine

The delivery of the ASC 890 long-range radar detection aircraft (Saab 340) is on track. The delivery date is related to the preparation of certain modifications of the F-16, according to the Swedish Ministry of Defense.

“The timing of the ASC 890 delivery is linked to when certain modifications of the F-16 fighters are ready. There are no delays in the transfer of the aircraft to Ukraine,” the commentary reads.
