Buildings, gas station, and garages on fire: first aftermath of Russia's massive attack on Kyiv

During the night of July 10, Russian forces launched a massive attack on Kyiv using drones and ballistic missiles. As a result of the strikes, debris has already been reported falling in the capital, along with information about multiple fires, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko and Kyiv City Military Administration head Tymur Tkachenko.
Starting at 1:03 AM Kyiv time, an air raid alert was declared in the capital. Shortly before 2:28 AM Kyiv time, ballistic missiles were launched toward the capital, followed by very loud explosions.
At this time, the consequences of the attack have been confirmed in the Shevchenkivskyi, Darnytskyi, Solomianskyi, Holosiivskyi, Podilskyi, and Obolonskyi districts.

The Ukrainian Air Force reported that several more groups of Shahed drones were approaching Kyiv from the north, east, and south.

"As of 3:20, we are recording the consequences of the attack in six Kyiv districts. Residential buildings, vehicles, warehouses, office spaces, and non-residential structures are on fire," reported the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration.
Shevchenkivskyi district
"We have the first confirmed consequences of the attack in Shevchenkivskyi district. Preliminary reports indicate a strike on a non-residential building and debris falling in an open area," Tymur Tkachenko wrote at 1:56 AM Kyiv time.
He later added that there was also, preliminarily, a strike on a residential building and debris falling on a rooftop. Additionally, parts of a drone fell near a gas station.
Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that medics were dispatched to the Shevchenkivskyi district. He also noted a fire on the upper floor of a residential building, another fire in an apartment building, and garages on fire.

"Rescue workers are on site at a residential building where a fire broke out on the top floor due to falling debris. Debris has also been reported at several other locations. At one of the addresses, another fire has been confirmed. All emergency services are responding," said Mayor Vitali Klitschko.

Oleksandr Sazanovych, head of the Shevchenkivskyi District Administration, reported that the combined attack caused significant damage to civilian infrastructure in the district.
"Residential buildings have been damaged - roofs, upper floors, facades, and interior spaces were affected. Numerous drone debris impacts on non-residential buildings have also been recorded," the statement reads.
He also clarified that there are three confirmed injuries:

An 86-year-old woman with an acute stress reaction;

A 45-year-old man with multiple trauma;

A 59-year-old man with a laceration to the foot and a closed chest injury.
Darnytskyi district
According to Tkachenko, drone debris fell in the courtyard of a residential building in the Darnytskyi district. Klitschko provided more details:
"Medics dispatched to Shevchenkivskyi district. Preliminary reports of debris hitting a residential building. Also in Darnytskyi district, a gas station and garages are on fire," read his message at 2:12 AM Kyiv time.
Later, the mayor reported another emergency call in the Darnytskyi district, this time also related to a fire in a multi-story apartment building.
Solomianskyi district
"We’re recording the consequences of the attack in the Solomianskyi district. A non-residential building was hit. Details being clarified," Tkachenko wrote at 2:27 AM Kyiv time.
Around the same time, Klitschko reported that a team of medics had been dispatched to the district.
"In another location in Solomianskyi district, the roof of a non-residential building is on fire," reported the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration at 2:42 AM Kyiv time.
Holosiivskyi district
According to Mayor Klitschko, a truck is on fire in the Holosiivskyi district.
Podilskyi district
"In Podilskyi, drone debris has fallen. Emergency services are en route," Klitschko said.

According to the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, windows were shattered in a residential building in the Podilskyi district due to the Russian attacks.
Obolonskyi district
"In the Obolonskyi district, we’re recording what appears to be drone debris falling. All information will be updated," Tkachenko reported at 3:04 AM Kyiv time.
Casualties
As of 2:49 AM Kyiv time, one person was hospitalized in the Solomianskyi district. The update was shared by the mayor of the capital.

The number of injured in the capital has risen to two. The second casualty is also in the Solomianskyi district, according to Mayor Klitschko.

Kyiv strike
Russian forces have been consistently targeting Kyiv in recent weeks. Explosions were heard in the capital not only tonight, but also the previous night and on several other recent occasions. The attacks have become almost daily.
During the night of July 7, Russian strikes affected three districts of Kyiv, Desnianskyi, Solomianskyi, and Holosiivskyi. The aftermath included damage to the facade of an administrative building, a gas pipeline, a water pipe, several vehicles, and other infrastructure.
