The father of American singer Britney Spears, 71-year-old Jamie Spears, reportedly underwent leg amputation due to an infection, according to TMZ.
What happened
According to sources, the father of the pop star has contracted a dangerous infection.
After five unsuccessful attempts to treat it, doctors have decided to amputate the infected limb.
Additionally, according to sources, Spears is planning to rebuild her relationship with her father.

The singer has repeatedly expressed her longing for him and a desire to provide him with financial support. Jamie, himself, is also willing to reconcile.
Britney had previously accused her relative of years-long abuse. In June 2021, she appealed to the Los Angeles Supreme Court to terminate her father's guardianship.

According to the star, Jamie had full control over her career and personal life since 2008, managing her finances.
