British aircraft carrier followed by unknown drone - Bild
This week in Germany, the British aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth entered the port of Hamburg. On Friday night, an unknown reconnaissance drone was seen following it, reports Bild.
According to the newspaper, after the arrival of the ship, the Bundeswehr posted guards around the pier. However, on the night of November 22, the police noticed a 1.5×1.5 meter drone flying near the aircraft carrier, which is 284 meters long. Most likely, according to the newspaper, it was a reconnaissance drone that was spying on the aircraft carrier.
After that, the Bundeswehr turned on an HP-47 jamming radio, but it did not help. Soon after, the drone flew toward the city (the action takes place in Hamburg), then turned around and disappeared from sight. The ground inspection did not reveal anything, so it was unsuccessful in this context.
As a result, a criminal case was opened in Germany under Article 109g of the German Criminal Code on filming that endangers security.
Back in July 2021, a similar story arose with this British aircraft carrier. In particular, the British Navy believed that their aircraft carrier Queen Elizabeth was being followed by a Russian submarine. This happened when the ship was entering the Mediterranean Sea.
