Britain requires Russian diplomats to notify about their travel within Kingdom
The UK mandates Russian diplomats to report their travels in response to Russia's actions. This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Kingdom, Leo Docherty, according to the UK Parliament press service.
"In response to Russia's decision to impose travel notification requirements on British diplomats in Russia, we have introduced commensurate reciprocal travel notification requirements for Russian diplomats accredited to the Russian Embassy in London and the Consulate-General in Edinburg," he said.
The official added that the restrictions for Russian diplomats are in line with the principle of reciprocity provided for by the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
"Reporting" on travel for British diplomats
At the end of July, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs introduced a "notification procedure for the travel of employees of British diplomatic missions within the country."
British diplomats are required to notify about trips "beyond the 120-kilometer free travel zone" at least five days before the event.
