Brad Pitt faces another brutal legal blow by his biological daughter

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's family story has taken another turn. Their 18-year-old daughter, Vivienne, has decided to officially drop her father's last name and has filed a petition with the court to make the change, according to Page Six.
Vivienne wants to change her name
The documents were filed with the Los Angeles County Superior Court. She is currently listed as Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt, but wants to keep only her mother's surname.
The 18-year-old explained her reason for the request in a single word: personal. A hearing on her petition is scheduled for November 2.
Notably, Vivienne has already stopped using her father's surname publicly. In 2024, when she worked as a producer's assistant alongside her mother on the Broadway production of The Outsiders, she was credited simply as Vivienne Jolie.
The fourth Jolie-Pitt child to reject Brad Pitt's surname
Vivienne has become the fourth child of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie to reject their father's surname, either publicly or officially.
The first was Shiloh, who filed legal documents to change her name after turning 18 and is now officially known as Shiloh Jolie.
In 2026, the couple's older children also expressed their desire to change their names. Maddox asked to officially remove Pitt's surname, while Zahara filed a similar request. She had already been introducing herself without her father's last name at public events and during her studies.
So far, Pax and Knox have not completed the official name-change process. However, according to media reports, Knox has already used the surname Jolie in some documents.

It is worth noting that Vivienne and Knox are twins and the youngest children of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. They were born in July 2008. The former couple have six children in total—three biological and three adopted.
