'Boring and uninteresting': Zelenskyy reacts to Putin's legitimacy attacks
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has responded to statements by Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin regarding his legitimacy during his interview with Central Asian media.
"Ukrainians know their Constitution, they know the law. We understand that these statements from the illegitimate president of the Russian Federation (Putin) regarding the legitimacy of the President of Ukraine are frankly boring and uninteresting," he said.
Zelenskyy admitted that such remarks from Putin do not greatly concern him.
"All reasonable people who can read the law, and I believe that if you can read, then read and draw conclusions. That's it. So, this doesn't really bother me," he noted.
What Putin said
On May 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin traveled to Minsk to meet with Belarusian regime leader Alexander Lukashenko.
During a press conference, Putin stated that Russia does not reject peaceful negotiations but is prepared to conduct them only with the "legitimate authorities" of Ukraine. In his opinion, the legitimacy of Volodymyr Zelenskyy as President of Ukraine has allegedly "ended."
In turn, Lukashenko echoed the Kremlin leader and stated that there is supposedly "no legal purity here (in legitimacy) and cannot be."
It is worth noting that in the same interview, Zelenskyy referred to Putin as the most inadequate enemy in 100 years.
