Tomorrow, December 11, a protest by Hungarian carriers may begin. Meanwhile, Hungary has stated that no border blockade is expected, according to the spokesperson of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Andrii Demchenko.

"The Hungarians reported that a demonstration may begin on December 11 at about 11:00 a.m. at the Záhony-Chop border," Demchenko said.

The SBGS spokesperson added that Hungarian colleagues also reported that there would be no blocking of the border.

As of now, about 1,000 trucks are waiting in line at the aforementioned checkpoint, but the traffic continues.

Border blockade

Since November 6, the movement of freight transport on the Ukrainian-Polish border has been hampered. The reason for the queues is a strike by Polish carriers demanding the return of the permit system for Ukraine. The current situation on the border with Poland can be found here.

Meanwhile, the Association of Hungarian Trucking Contractors MKFE said that the police allowed Hungarian carriers to hold a protest on the border with Ukraine near the Záhony-Chop checkpoint. The latter will also demand the abolition of the "transport visa-free regime". The protest is scheduled for December 11.
