Body found after 9-day search in Zaporizhzhia rubble
A body was discovered under the rubble in Zaporizhzhia on January 26. The search lasted nine days following a Russian attack on the city on January 18, reports the State Emergency Service of the Zaporizhzhia region.
"On January 26, rescuers discovered and recovered the body of a 27-year-old man who fell victim to Russian terror. Search and rescue operations lasted nine days," the report states.
The Russian shelling of Zaporizhzhia on January 18 claimed the lives of two people and injured 12 others. The search involved a canine unit from the Interregional Rapid Response Center of Ukraine's State Emergency Service (based in Romny).

In total, the State Emergency Service deployed 178 rescuers and 40 units of equipment over the nine days.

On January 18, Russian forces launched a ballistic missile attack on Zaporizhzhia. The strike hit an industrial facility, with the blast wave causing extensive damage.
In the first hours following the attack, reports confirmed 10 injured individuals, while three others were listed as missing.
