Blinken discusses achieving peace in Ukraine with Indian Foreign Minister
In Ukraine, it is crucial to establish a just and lasting peace, states US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
During his visit to Tokyo on July 28, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken met with Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.
"Secretary Blinken underscored the importance of realizing a just and enduring peace for Ukraine consistent with the UN Charter," the State Department statement read.
Social media posts by Blinken and Jaishankar mention their meeting but do not address the topic of the war in Ukraine.

Relations between Ukraine and India
India has refrained from directly criticizing Russia over its invasion of Ukraine and has called on both countries to resolve the conflict through dialogue and diplomacy.
Since the invasion, New Delhi has resisted Western pressure to distance itself from Moscow, citing its longstanding ties with Russia and economic needs.
In recent years, the US has sought to strengthen relations with India as a counterbalance to China's growing influence in the region. Despite sanctions, India continues to trade with Russia.
Earlier this year, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone conversation with Prime Minister Modi and invited the Indian leader to visit Ukraine.
According to media reports, Modi is expected to visit Ukraine in mid-August.
