Blinken and Norwegian Foreign Minister discuss strengthening aid to Ukraine
The U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide discussed enhancing aid to Ukraine, reports the U.S. Department of State.
It's noted that Blinken and Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide met today in Brussels on the sidelines of the NATO Foreign Ministers' meeting.
The Secretary of State and the Foreign Minister confirmed their shared commitment to NATO and transatlantic security and discussed additional measures to support Ukraine against Russian aggression.
What else did the officials discuss
They consulted on the Gaza conflict and stressed the need to continue expanding humanitarian aid to civilians. Additionally, they discussed mutual interests including the Arctic and global food security.
Aid from Norway
Norway announced financial aid for demining in Ukraine in October, totaling $18.5 million.
Subsequently, Norway allocated 1 billion kroner (84 million euros) to Norwegian organizations aiding Ukrainians.
Recently, Ukrainian border guards received a mobile radiation control complex from Norway, used in high-threat areas to assess radiation levels.
